During the Tekken 8 Evo showcase, the 32nd character was revealed to be Reina (timestamp 3:59:39) and the character is an “enigmatic Mishima Polytechnical School student,” according to Bandai Namco’s description of the character.
As shown in the trailer, Reina uses Mishima-style and Taido karate while unleashing purple lightning with her attacks. Interestingly, she is aware of both Jin and Kazuya but neither of them are aware of who she is. She’s also wants to fight Jin and calls him “senpai” meaning senior in Japanese.
Furthermore, it was revealed that the character was designed by the renowned character designer of Bayonetta, Mari Shimazaki (timestamp 4:04:09). In addition, one of Reina’s key concept is “Duality.” Notably, Shimazaki also designed Josie for Tekken 7.
Additionally, the developers also showcased unique concept arts for Zafina (timestamp 3:37:43), Lee Chaolan (timestamp 3:40:12), Alisa Bosconovich (timestamp 3:42:25), Devil Jin (timestamp 3:44:50), and Victor Chevalier (timestamp 3:51:30).
