2026 is shaping up to be one of the biggest years for fighting games. From brand new entries to sequels, there are enough titles for old and new fighting game fans to explore. Here are the upcoming 2026 fighting games you can’t miss.
2XKO

Release Date: January 20, 2026 (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC)
Initially revealed as Project L in 2019, the game features characters (or, in this case, champions) from League of Legends in a 2v2 tag system format. Not only does the game look visually appealing, but the combat system allows players to utilize the tag system to deliver killer combos. Players can even choose their own playstyle through Fuses, which are modifiers that will enable new and veteran fighting game players to choose their own style.
My Hero Academia: All’s Justice

Release Date: February 6, 2026 (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC)
Putting My Hero Academia: All’s Justice in this list might be a little bit cheating since it’s an arena fighter, but hear me out. After delivering a banger final season and a very satisfying ending, the franchise is about to deliver what could be the final entry in the Justice series. With over 50+ characters to choose from, not only does the game feature the biggest roster in the series, but it also features an improvement in its combat system over its predecessors.
In addition, the cutscenes have bumped up in quality. The low-budget comic-style cuts are gone and are now replaced with motion comic + 3D cutscenes that look absolutely beautiful. If you’re a My Hero Academia fan, then this is the game that you should definitely try.
Invincible VS

Release Date: April 30, 2026 (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC)
Based on the Amazon Prime TV show, Invincible. The game features a 3v3 tag system with brutal combat and destructive environments. One could even call this a love child between Killer Instinct and Mortal Kombat. Moreover, the game is being developed by the game studio Quarter Up. What’s interesting is that the developers have previously worked on Killer Instinct, and a lot of members who have worked on that game founded the Quarter Up studio.
Among its initial 18-character roster, the game features an original character, Ella Mental. The character was created in collaboration with the series’s creators, Cory Walker and Robert Kirkman. The game looks promising and could deliver a banger once it releases.
Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game

Release Date: Summer 2026 (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, PC)
Avatar fans are about to get a very special treat with the franchise’s own 2D fighting game. So far, the combat looks fun, and the character details are spot on. The game even includes motion inputs, which are a thing of beauty. As more trailers are released in the upcoming months, the hype only increases.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls

Entertainment)
Release Date: 2026 (PlayStation 5, PC)
Last but not least, we have Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. After the major disappointment that was Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, Marvel Tokon is a step in the right direction, especially since it’s being developed by Arc System Works, the developers of the Guilty Gear series and Dragon Ball Fighterz. Marvel Tokon features a 4v4 tag system and anime-style character designs. The game could be another strong entry from Arc System Works once it finally releases.
These are the upcoming 2026 fighting games that can compete and have a place in the fighting game community in the long run. Which title are you excited for? Let me know in the comments down below.
